Fall Recipe: Warm Spiced Cider
As the weather cools, there’s nothing like a warm, spiced cider to cozy up with. Here’s our favorite recipe:
Ingredients:
1 gallon apple cider
1 orange, sliced
1 apple, sliced
3 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 teaspoon allspice berries
1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
1/4 cup brandy or rum (optional, for a spirited twist)
Instructions:
In a large pot, combine the apple cider, orange slices, apple slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to low and let simmer for 30-60 minutes.
Stir in brown sugar if desired, and add brandy or rum for an adult version.
Strain the cider into mugs, and garnish with additional apple slices or cinnamon sticks.
