Fall Recipe: Warm Spiced Cider

As the weather cools, there’s nothing like a warm, spiced cider to cozy up with. Here’s our favorite recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon apple cider

  • 1 orange, sliced

  • 1 apple, sliced

  • 3 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves

  • 1 teaspoon allspice berries

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)

  • 1/4 cup brandy or rum (optional, for a spirited twist)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, combine the apple cider, orange slices, apple slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice.

  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to low and let simmer for 30-60 minutes.

  3. Stir in brown sugar if desired, and add brandy or rum for an adult version.

  4. Strain the cider into mugs, and garnish with additional apple slices or cinnamon sticks.

  5. Enjoy the cozy flavors of fall!
